Hi, I'm Amanda

SOME STUFF ABOUT ME

The quick SEO friendly version is that I, Amanda Smith, am currently working as a freelance video editor and colorist in St. Louis, Missouri. If you need help with post production please reach out by filling out the Contact Form below.

If you’d like a little more background keep reading. I’ll try to keep it pithy.

I have always been a movie nerd. Seriously no one would play Scene It with me more than once, it was frustrating. But it wasn’t until I took a film appreciation class at Webster University that it occurred to me that I could ever work in what felt like the untouchable industry of media production. On the very day of my realization I happened to catch The Cutting Edge: The Magic Of Movie Editing on TV. It kind of felt like the universe was trying to tell me something. I found a class on editing and after just a few weeks I knew I needed to change my major. I had completely fallen in love with editing and post production.

Since then I have spent over a decade working on a wide variety of projects including brand videos, corporate events, social content, ads, TV, and short films. I’ve been able to work with nationally recognized clients such as AT&T, Build A Bear, Cisco, Purina, and more. Best of all I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with world class professionals whose talent and vision never cease to amaze me.

Did you like how I humanized my little mini resume there? It’s sappy but it’s true. Hang in there; there’s just one more obligatory line about how creative work is hard but worth it. If you are in the industry you already know that, but if not let’s make sure it’s in there just to cover the bases. Ready? Here it is…

Shaping stories and seeing projects, which are the work of so many people, become fully realized is almost always incredibly challenging, but it’s also thrilling and one of the most satisfying jobs I can imagine.

See, doesn’t that feel good?
